Job Description Job Description This position works closely with clients and internal project teams to complete comprehensive project contract documents, interior finishes, and materials. This includes construction drawings, component/equipment schedules, and specifications. The ideal candidate is highly organized and well-versed in the project design process to provide support across all design and project phases. Responsibilities Project Expertise Performance Monitoring: Track project schedules and monitor budget hours spent versus completion percentages. Technical Documentation: Prepare and ensure the accuracy of design construction documents. Client Relations: Coordinate directly with clients regarding project requirements and design aesthetics. Project Planning: Estimate hours and scope of work; prepare project-based work authorizations for Project Manager review. Regulatory Compliance: Review and implement code and city requirements in coordination with the Project Manager and Designer. Technical Standards: Maintain a working knowledge of exiting, ADA codes, and the local city plan check process. Interior Principles: Apply diverse knowledge of interior architectural principles to manage finish plans, specifications, and material approvals. Construction Administration: Participate in project construction administration, including quality control. Communication and Collaboration Managerial Support: Assist Project Managers with planning budgets, schedules, staffing, and reviewing workloads for staff assignments. Team Development: Monitor team performance and provide development support and training to enhance project team skills. Proposals: Assist in preparing proposals and evaluating the scope of work for new projects. Field Coordination: Provide clear direction to General Contractors and Subcontractors regarding field discrepancies; collaborate on solutions with the Project Manager. Relationship Management: Communicate effectively with clients and maintain strong, positive relationships. Consultant Liaison: Proactively work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet objectives. Process Development and Coordination Detailing & Quality: Oversee the development of detailing for construction documents and monitor drawing quality. Standards & Records: Verify compliance with office standards and maintain project files, including record drawings and communication logs. Technical Coordination: Coordinate finished plans, material selections, and specifications required for construction. Agency Submission: Conduct research and handle the documentation and submission of plan check corrections with city agencies and engineers. Vendor Management: Coordinate with specialty vendors (A/V, cabling, security) to document requirements in construction sets. Supervisory Responsibilities Oversee Designers and the Production team. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or Bachelor's of Architecture (B.Arch). Experience: 5-8 years of progressive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years in corporate interiors is preferred. Software Skills: Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, and SketchUp . Knowledge of 3ds Max is a plus. Physical Demands: Ability to stand/sit for long periods and occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for close-up design work and color differentiation.
