Title: Mental Health Direct Care Staff Job Summary: We are seeking
compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Mental
Health Direct Care Staff. This role involves providing direct
support and care to individuals with mental health challenges in a
residential or community-based setting. The Mental Health Direct
Care Staff play a pivotal role in promoting the well-being and
independence of individuals while ensuring their safety and
comfort. Schedule: This shift requires availability for evenings
and weekends - 3 open availabilities Responsibilities: Develop and
maintain positive and supportive relationships with individuals
receiving care. Assist individuals in developing and implementing
individualized care plans to address their specific needs and
goals. Provide guidance and support to individuals in their
everyday activities, including personal care, meal preparation,
medication management, and household tasks. Foster a safe and
therapeutic environment, promoting a sense of community and
inclusion. Monitor and document the behavior and progress of
individuals, reporting any significant observations or concerns to
supervisors or appropriate team members. Participate in treatment
team meetings and collaborate with other professionals to ensure a
comprehensive and cohesive care approach. Motivate and encourage
individuals to engage in social, recreational, and therapeutic
activities to promote their emotional and cognitive well-being.
Implement crisis prevention and intervention strategies, following
established protocols and guidelines. Maintain accurate and
up-to-date documentation, including daily logs, incident reports,
and progress notes. Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies,
and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and privacy
of individuals' information. Qualifications: High school diploma or
equivalent. Additional education or certification in a relevant
field is a plus. Previous experience working with individuals with
mental health challenges is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills
and the ability to build rapport and trust with individuals.
Compassion, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude towards
individuals receiving care. Excellent communication skills, both
verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a
multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of crisis prevention and
intervention techniques is advantageous. Understanding of
confidentiality and privacy regulations in the mental health field.
Working Conditions: This role involves working in a residential or
community-based setting, which may include evenings, weekends, and
holidays. The work environment may involve a variety of physical
activities, including standing, walking, and assisting individuals
with mobility or personal care tasks.
