TPS is an innovative and self-sustaining department that supports the UCSB mission by providing safe and reliable parking, fleet services and transportation alternatives to our campus community. TPS manages over 9,500 parking spaces and over 400 vehicles. TPS coordinates inbound and outbound traffic planning for all major campus events.

Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Responsible for customer service relating to permit sales and service for faculty, staff, students and campus visitors. Evaluates permit eligibility based on classification, employment/student status and reason for visiting campus. Explains parking regulations associated with over 30 different permit options. Outlines methods for payment, permit renewal, policies governing refunds, replacements, and exchanges. Coordinates special projects such as special event permits and special area permits.

Processes payment of permits via credit card, cash, check, or payroll deduction into sales register. Must be able to work as part of a team and provide input to management on permit sales issues. Must also have the ability to work independently, showing initiative and confidentiality in all matters. Requires strong written and oral communications skills, reflecting empathy, patience, analytical ability, professional judgment and the ability to manage and prioritize work. Must have demonstrated strength in applying customer service skills.

Provides analysis of inquiries of UCPath, T2 database and other parking management systems to create reports for use by TPS management and staff.

Trains student support staff on all services and systems.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated exceptional customer service by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high quality service and assistance. Ability to work as part of a team, maintain a positive attitude and work together to achieve a common goal of providing world class customer service.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with students, staff, faculty and the general public. Ability to grasp new concepts. Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under high customer demand and challenging customer interactions. Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as math skills with attention to detail. Excellent computer skills, including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience.

Desirable Requirements
Experience in cashiering. Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to cash handling. Experience with various online campus systems and parking management systems. Prior experience working in an academic setting.
