Rincon Consultants is seeking a Director of Environmental Planningwith experience in transportation (roadway, transit, rail) projects. This rolewill be responsible for conducting and overseeing research, field work, impact analysis, report preparation, and business development related to CEQA/NEPA and related technical studies.This position allows you to work from any of our 12 office locations, and also provides the potential for a hybrid/remote work arrangement within California.Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Write and manage the preparation of complex CEQA/NEPA documents for roadway, transit, and rail projects
• Oversee and train junior staff on CEQA/NEPA and other planning/environmental requirements
• Interface with clients and make public presentations to agency decision-making bodies
• Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance
• Perform various business development functions, including proposal preparation and active involvement in transportation-related planning/environmental organizations
• Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA/NEPA and related technical areasThis Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • BS/BA Degree in applicable field and 12+ years of increasingly responsible experience required
  • Advanced Degree (Masters/PhD) preferred
  • Experience in a private environmental consulting firm preferred
  • Experience working with and/or for Metro, Caltrans, FTA, FHWA and/or local or a regional transportation/transit agency preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent organization, schedule and budget management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

The base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000-$170,000, plus benefits and bonus. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys.
