Job SummaryUnder limited supervision of the Quality Assurance
Supervisor or designate, the QC Technician performs quality control
testing on incoming raw materials and final product.Why

position do?
- Oversees a wide variety of skilled preparation and operation of
analytical equipment.
- Performs quality control testing on incoming raw materials and
final product.
- Performs maintenance of various equipment.
- Corrects routine and non-routine problems.
- Adheres to strict safety regulations of company.
- Interfaces with Research & Development group.
- Must be regular and punctual in attendance
- Responsible for maintaining quality within the scope of the job

- BA/BS in science-related field preferred, or equivalent from
two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
- Computer literate (WORD/EXCEL).
- Familiar with lab equipment operation and set-up.
- Experience working with chemicals and chemical reactions
helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in
English.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to
questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the
general public.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages,
ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to work in metrics.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- For safety, the use of contact lenses for any reason, cosmetic
or corrective, is prohibited on the production floor, in the lab
areas, in the engineering shop, or while working on equipment.
- The company will provide prescription safety glasses with a
current (under 12 months) vision corrective prescription provided
by the employee.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach
with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- May be required to pass pulmonary function test in order to
wear respirator. Ability to drive forklift.
- The employee frequently is required to sit for prolonged
periods.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and
stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
