distributed from the start: initially between offices in Boston &
Santa Barbara, and now with additional offices in Seattle, San
Francisco & Paris. This role can be done from anywhere in the
United States- any of our offices, or remotely from home. It's
about impact, not location.The Infrastructure Architect will plan,
design, assemble, and oversee the systems that run Sonos'
technological infrastructure. Infrastructure designs developed by
the Architect will be used as a standard blueprint for all teams
needing infrastructure to enable their applications. The
infrastructure architect will also provide ongoing support and
advice to operations teams with the goal of ensuring the technology
continues to support fluctuating demands.Through collaborative
design processes, ensure Infrastructure and Infrastructure
platforms address prioritized security concerns, provide adequate
workload performance, are automated via IaC techniques, and are
supportable by operation teams. This role will also identify
potential technology innovations, and engage with business
stakeholders to understand business requirements and value. The
role will be hands-on, the candidate must possess a demonstrable
knowledge of system administration and software development. What
You'll Do:
- Ownership of cloud and on-premise infrastructure designs
- Partner with Network engineering team on Network designs
- Documentation using required standards, methods, and tools
- Leveraging programming language to build Infrastructure as code
(IaC)
- Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this into
the team backlog using Agile ways of Working
- Automate and improve development and release processes in
partnership with the Quality Engineering team
- Testing and IaC examining code written by others and analyzing
results
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity
threats
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and
maintenance
- Defining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for software and
hardware installations, ensuring the infrastructure is tested for
resiliency and the infrastructure is ready for service transition
to Global Operations
- Mentor Global Operations team in Incident Management, Change
Management, Release Management, and Troubleshooting
- Assist with application Performance Tuning, and Availability
Management
- Working with software developers and software engineers to
ensure that development follows established processes
- Planning out projects and being involved in project management
decisions
- Be a part of the infrastructure team providing level 3
technical support
- Perform root cause analysis for production errors
- Investigate and resolve technical issuesWhat You'll Need:Basic
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience designing, integrating and managing
complex infrastructure solutions
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
- Experience with Data Center, Cloud, Web, and Data Service
technologies
- Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering
role
- Experienced with Jira and Agile ways of working
- Proficient with Amazon Web services
- Working knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform, Puppet and
Ansible
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
- Working knowledge of Linux admin, Windows admin, Akamai
- Must be a strong leader and communicator
- Must have good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Collaborative team spiritPreferred Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Python or equivalent development
languages
- Proficient with Git, Jenkins and associated workflows
- Working knowledge of Databases and SQL
- Basic Knowledge of:
- Snowflake, Windows SQL Server, Talend, Tableau, AWS RDS
- Vagrant, Pulumi
- Mac-OS administration

cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and
qualifications. This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses
as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all
full time employees are eligible for stock grants. The minimum base
pay may be modified in the future based on changing market
conditions. The starting minimum base pay for this role
is:$152,000We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including
