Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under the general supervision of the Humanities Administrative Support Center (HASC) Student Affairs Manager, and working closely with the Faculty Graduate Advisor, the Graduate Program Coordinator is responsible for independently coordinating and managing all aspects of the Graduate Program in the Department of Religious Studies. Provides knowledgeable and holistic advice to prospective, incoming, and current graduate students. Manages all administrative aspects of graduate admissions, student funding and employment including hiring of Teaching Assistants and administration of fellowships. Provides timely and detailed information and reports to faculty, and serves as liaison to multiple departments on campus such as Graduate Division, the Office of the Registrar, the Office of International Students and Scholars, and more. Maintains an in depth understanding of Departmental and University policies and procedures, and interprets regulations for students, staff, faculty, and the general public.

Minimum Requirements
Position requires strong knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word and Excel. Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality in all matters relating to advising. Work History demonstrating strong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously, paying close attention to details, deadlines, and priorities. Must be flexible and capable of changing assignments and priorities with ease while exercising good judgment, common sense, and discretion. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a multifaceted team. Able to work independently under stressful situations involving student and faculty crises. Position requires working knowledge of University and Graduate Division policies and procedures regarding graduate student affairs, and requires the ability to interpret regulations from various administrative offices to students and faculty.

Working knowledge of University and Graduate Division policies and procedures regarding graduate student affairs, academic personnel, and payroll processing, as well as University specific computer application programs and pertinent databases such as UC Path and Gaucho Blue. Basic knowledge of student immigration and visa processes pertaining to international students and scholars. Knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
