Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under general supervision by the Senior Undergraduate Advisor, provides first level student advising and guidance to approximately 2,500 new and continuing students in Bachelor of Science degrees in four distinct pre-majors and majors. Uses decision making and problem solving skills to provide advising and guidance to students on various instructional and personal issues and problems. Interprets policy and assists students with locating documentation and information needed for their degree program. Ensures students have met requirements for degree and works with students with GPA and other progress to degree issues. Refers students as necessary to Senior Undergraduate Advisors and/or other campus resources. Coordinates independent research application and evaluation process for Psy 99/99P, 198 and 199/199P and departments honors courses. Participates in various outreach activities and provides support to department events. Coordinates and processes approximately 1,000 change of major petitions a year. Coordinates quarter course and teaching evaluation for all instructors. Provides necessary administrative support for course instruction including updating IRAL. Coordinates textbook ordering process with instructors and publishers. Provide support to PBS Honors program, works with faculty advisor. Maintains shared "UG Advisor" mailbox for all advising email. Manages Senior Undergraduate Advisors calendars for student advising appointments. Provides back up as needed for all DSP activities including scheduling exams and finding rooms for accommodations.

Minimum Requirements
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Must be able to work with students and advise them on academic and personal issues and provide information, resources and relevant policies to answer questions and solve issues. Must be able to follow established guidelines and policies regarding academic advising criteria and meet constant multiple deadlines. Must be accurate, thorough and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to organize, prioritize and complete work with frequent interruptions. Must have good computer skills, and be able to use various programs (Excel, Word, Google) to complete required tasks. Must be able to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff and other campus offices on a variety of advising issues and provide information and guidance regarding departmental and UC policies and procedures for advising undergraduate pre-majors and majors in the department.

Desirable Requirements
Knowledge of UC policy and procedures regarding student advising, knowledge regarding Psychological & Brain Sciences pre-major and major advising issues; general knowledge regarding student affairs and advising; familiarity with Student Information Systems (ISIS) and other on-campus student related applications.
