Our Moog Santa Barbara team is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Associate Engineer. Headquartered in East Aurora, NY, we employ over 11,500 employees in 28 countries.Here's what you'll be working on: Coordinate and conduct site assessments of applicable compliance issues to ensure operational activities are consistent with the needs of the organization and applicable regulatory requirements. Perform structured assignments that require some interpretation of data and regulations, identification of problem sources, and possible remedial actions. Provide technical guidance to the site personnel and work together with the site in the selection and implementation of compliant processes and programs. Identify when changes to training and compliance tools are necessary to improve functionality and efficiency of the applicable management systems and assist in the implementation of such changes. Manage regulatory data, log sheets, analytical data/records for the site. Ensure records, written procedures, programs and checklists for compliance are accurate, properly organized and revised as required. Guide site on selection of required safety and or environmental equipment for workers, processes and storage areas. Able to assist site with agency reporting when required. Support, and is an active member of, the site spill or emergency response teams. Must be able to wear a respirator. Support the needs of Site, Group and Corporate Environmental and Safety projects and initiatives. Must obtain and maintain OSHA 30 hour certification every 5 years for positions with safety compliance accountability. Must obtain and maintain related environmental, hazardous materials transportation and emergency response certifications as required for the position.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in EHS, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or Engineering Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)Preferred Qualifications Include: 6+ months of EHS compliance experience in a manufacturing setting (internships will be considered) Comfortable in a hands-on manufacturing shop floor environment Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to influence Must be able communicate successfully to train others and modify standard regulatory training courses with software programs such as Mind Map, Articulate, PowerPoint, etc. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact with all levels within the organization Ability to accomplish tasks in a fast pace environment while meeting strict deadlinesEOE/AA Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/Veteran
