Position Summary:
The electrical systems engineer will work closely with the project
engineers to develop and integrate top level solutions to thermal
management problem statements applicable to military and commercial
aircraft including electrical and electromechanical products. The
candidate must be capable of coordinating with various functional
areas and suppliers for design, build, test, and qualification of
new power, analog, and digital circuits, and systems.
How you will do it:
Analyze and decompose customer requirements into design
requirements while ensuring compliance with safety, redundance, and
reliability requirements
Designs and optimizes component performance goals through
requirements flow down utilizing systems engineering principals
Review customer design requirements, military and commercial
specifications, documentation, and other data to evaluate design
feasibility, sizing, and integration requirements.
Provides technical leadership for projects incorporating complex
electromechanical systems, including analog and digital controls
and sensor systems
Generate subsystem specifications and documentation for use by
internal and external design resources.
Create functional block diagrams and develop control system
functionality documents
Coordinate activities between internal departments, vendors and/or
customers to achieve technical and program objectives.
Research, recommend, and develop technologies, processes, and
methods to meet both customer and PDT goals.
Support manufacturing during prototype builds and product
transitions to manufacturing
Perform verification testing using electrical test equipment
Lead failure investigations and champion root cause analysis
Prepare presentation materials and conduct design reviews with
customers.
Conduct studies and prepare documentation that tests and analyzes
the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment,
components, and systems.
Assist program manager in preparation of program status reports,
schedules, and other data items.
What we look for :
Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.) in electrical or systems
engineering from four-year college or university
2-3 years of experience in aerospace electrical systems
development.
Experience in electrical system-level hardware engineering
processes, modeling, and analysis with an emphasis on
reliability.
Hands on experience in module checkout and troubleshooting and
validation of performance to the requirements matrix.
Ability to perform required electrical circuit analysis using
simulation tools
Exposure to rational data bases, such as DOORs, for requirements
tracking
Experience with requirements tracking,compliance and flow down
Excellent interpersonal and teamplay/leadership skills
Knowledge of Aerospace and Military document standards for design,
analysis and testing of aircraft systems
Working knowledge of SolidWorks design software desired but not
required.
Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal)
with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others.
Requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with
ability to organize and maintain proprietary files and records.
Ability to maintain flexibility and adaptability to deal with
changing conditions and requirements.
Ability to effectively read and interpret documentation, i.e.,
drawings, specifications, contracts, agreements, government
notices, company operating procedures, etc.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts
