Watch the video"Assures the procurement and inventory management of high technology or life sciences production and/or non-manufacturing materials, equipment and/or services in accordance with supply chain optimization and management objectives. Coordinates material sourcing for new product introduction (NPI) projects, in collaboration with R&D. Establishes and manages supplier relationships including negotiating contracts and prices, monitoring supplier performance, selecting/analyzing the supply base and developing and executing the commodity plans. May manage contract manufacturer (CM) or original design manufacturer (ODM) relationships to ensure inventory optimization. May be responsible for contributing to or leading process improvement efforts, such as in new product introduction (NPI), resourcing, cost reduction and/or quality. May have global responsibility and/or support multiple sites.As a member of Agilent's Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain organization, supporting the Dako business group, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assurance of supply of materials, equipment and/or services, including maintaining appropriate inventory levels, with no disruption to production, and meeting all needs of the business
  • Contribute to cost reduction efforts to reduce supply chain cost/cost of goods (COGS), while maintaining a continuing reliable source of supply
  • Meet all required ISO and regulatory (QMS) requirements, including supplier evaluation, reevaluation, and approval.
  • Material sourcing for existing products and new product introduction (NPI) projects
  • Purchase requisition/order creation and changes, including material releases, in an accurate and timely manner
  • Negotiating cost of materials, and purchase terms and conditions as needed
  • Monitor supplier performance and take appropriate action with suppliers, including issuing of SCARs, to resolve issues in timely manner
  • Support proactive approach to material disruption issues and escalate as needed
  • Disposition of non-conforming materials through management of material returns, reworks (re-qualify), and/or obtaining timely credits
  • Working with Quality, Engineering, Production, R&D to ensure appropriate and timely material availability, correct documentation, material specifications, NCRs, and Certificates of Analysis/Compliance
  • Generation/maintenance of required reports and information
  • Follow documented Procurement Processes and Work Instructions and perform activities in support of supplier management processes and objectives
  • Maintain necessary records and files
  • Reconcile receiving and accounts payable problems
  • Meets regular Standard setting requirements
  • Assist accounting/finance with variance analysis as needed
  • Set clear delivery expectations and manage to these expectations
  • Communicate material forecasting to suppliers
  • Expedite deliveries as needed to ensure continual flow of materials
  • Support Agilent's Supplier Performance Measurement Process and work with suppliers to drive continuous performance improvement
  • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with suppliers
  • Effectively communicate Agilent requirements and business needs
  • Works on Procurement assignments with broadly defined objectives
  • Solves straight-forward issues, challenges and problems within field of specialization
  • Responsible for contributing to or leading continuous improvement effortsNote: This position will be performed remotely until Summer 2022 when scheduled to return to work onsite at the Carpinteria, CA Agilent site. Once fully trained this role could have the option for a Hybrid (Onsite/Remote) model.
