ShelterBox USA ---Fundraising Assistant---------Job Description----------ShelterBox is a leading global nonprofit organization whose mission is to deliver humanitarian aid in the form of shelter and lifesaving supplies when disaster or conflict devastates a region. From Syria, to Somaliland, the Philippines, Vanuatu, the Lake Chad Basin, and beyond, in 2020 ShelterBox provided shelter to more than 200,000 people who were left homeless from disaster and conflict situations.---ShelterBox has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, a platinum status in GuideStar, was nominated for the 2018 and 2019 Nobel Peace Prize and is the official project partner of Rotary International in disaster relief.-------The Position--ShelterBox USA is looking for a--dynamic and team oriented--Fundraising--Assistant--who will help support the--SBUSA--staff in day-to-day administrative tasks as well as collaborate on and lend a hand to larger fundraising initiatives. The primary role of the Fundraising--Assistant--is--to support the work of the organization and help ensure--efficient, cohesive, and consistent day-to-day fundraising operations. The Fundraising--Assistant--will work closely with several members of the--staff and will report directly to the--HR Generalist.------Position Duties--A--wide range--of duties will be performed, including some or all the following:---Volunteer/Donor Order fulfillment----This includes--coordinating and mailing requests for ShelterBox USA materials, giveaways and inventory--as well as picking up mail from the post office on a weekly basis.-----Tracking and inventory of collateral Items.-----Assist with Seasonal fundraising initiatives/campaigns--and events.----This person is responsible for aiding fundraisers in campaigns and events by assisting with administrative tasks related to each project (i.e.--picking up printed materials, helping to set--up for--events, outreach assistance etc.)---This person is responsible for primary event support including--event research and prep,--vendor management, setup/breakdown, donor outreach/engagement/recognition,--budgeting/expense tracking--(this would be for both in person and virtual events).-----Various Administrative tasks within the SBUSA Santa Barbara office.-----Other, as needed. Projects may change based on organization needs.------The Person---We're---Looking For--------Our ideal candidate has a strong desire to work in the--humanitarian sector and has a passion for service. This position will--be--helping--accomplish fundraising initiatives that will serve the overall ShelterBox mission. This person will have a chance to gather experience in fundraising and nonprofit work from several areas of the organization and can be used as a launching point into further specialization within the organization.----------

  • Bachelor's Degree--in business, office management and/or non-profit--management/administration. 1-3 years of experience in an office setting.--
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.-----
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both within the--office as well as with remote--employees.----
  • Highly organized with--attention to detail.--------
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and work both quickly and independently (and is a self-starter).--------
  • Good face-to-face and electronic-based communication and interpersonal skills.--------
  • Professional, friendly and courteous demeanor.--
  • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and track details, data, activities and information.--------
