- Very advanced design of the most complex high-speed electronic
circuits utilizing SOCs, FPGA, video transceivers, hybrid cables,
power architecture, thermal design, peripherals and imagers.
- Provide leadership and mentoring in analysis and simulation of
electronic circuit performance and associated technical
documentation for the design group.
- Design test fixtures and tooling, test procedures, and other
manufacturing support functions required to consistently produce
quality camera systems. Recommend new or enhanced test
- Provide technical leadership to the department in the areas of
system analysis, EMC, safety regulations, circuit design
recommendations, research, new or enhanced circuit analysis and
simulation methods, and technical documentation. Help define the
best techniques for these within the department.
- Perform research and development of new circuit designs for use
in future products.
- May function in a project leadership role.
Perform at an advanced level in the following areas as well as
provide technical leadership:
Research, develop and recommend new design techniques for KSI,
including but not limited to: new electronic components, advanced
high density packaging, and analytical models and techniques.
- Analysis and Modeling
Perform system modeling of our camera systems components, which
include imagers, amplifiers, CDS sampling, cables, timing
generation, A/D converters, high speed serial data, and DSP image
Thoroughly analyze and simulate the effects of worst-case
tolerances to verify required performance and to ensure long-term
reliable manufacturing yields.
Develop analytical and test methods to objectively quantify
imaging systems performance.
Determine methods of communicating the analytical results with
the rest of the Engineering staff.
Determine, where appropriate, empirical methods to validate
analytical models.If necessary, update the model assumptions and/or
empirical methods to correlate the results.
Document results of the analyses in technical reports and design
- Project Development Teams
Contribute design ideas, constraints, trade-offs, and concerns
to the Project Managers.
Interface with Electronic Engineers to design and analyze new
electronic circuitry per component and system specifications and
Interface with the PWB Designer for circuit layout placement and
routing to maintain circuit performance and signal integrity.
Interface with Mechanical and Thermal Engineers to optimize
packaging, manufacturability, and reliability.
Assure that designs comply with the quality, safety, and EMC
requirements of regulatory agencies such as FDA/GMP, ISO1345, UL,
CSA, and the MDR.
Participate with the development team to build and test

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Experience using computer schematic software program: Altium or
Experience using computer simulation software: Spice, HyperLynx,
Understanding of imager technology for color and black and
white, single and three chip, interlaced and progressive scan.
Highly knowledgeable of analog circuit design as well as high
speed serial data transmission over PWB and cables.
Experience with and competent knowledge of complex video systems
a plus.Knowledge of medical device quality system regulations and
standards (eg, U.S. FDA Quality System Regulation 21CFR Part 820,
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, emphasis
in mixed signal design or related field with 9 or more years of
experience in analog/digital system design and analysis, or Masters
of Science in Engineering or related field with 7 or more years of
experience in analog/digital system design and analysis field
Good working knowledge of low noise sensor interface and
electronics, high speed analog and digital circuits.
Must have working knowledge of Mathematics, circuit modeling,
and associated software tools.
Must be able to understand/operate advanced test equipment.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must work well in a team based environment
Design and familiarity with image sensors and FPGAs a plus.
Familiarity with Endoscopy a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile is a plus.

Visual acuity sufficient for testing.
