Job Summary

Reports to Reliability & Maintenance Manager or designate. Under minimal supervision, assists in the scheduling and coordination of maintenance activities with production and plant staff.

General Leadership Activities:

  • Create, monitor, collect and update progress on maintenance schedule for all equipment resources within scope of manufacturing area; includes sequencing of Preventative Maintenance and Service Requests according to daily short-term CMMS review.
  • Main point of contact for site R&M planning to support production demand.
  • Create and maintain PM database.
  • Master data creation and maintenance within CMMS and other R&M tools.
  • Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing and QA to resolve equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with MFG and materials management to ensure timely release of equipment and shift carryover requirements.
  • Drive communication of equipment status with MFG and site leadership.
  • Assign all RM and WO to maintenance mechanics based on a comprehensive understanding of individual skillsets.
  • Manage scheduling for emergency downtime and repair.
  • Establish maintenance planning time fences as well as policies for time fence management.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to expedite components.
  • Create and maintain stock levels on critical spare parts and update in CMMS or other tracking system.
  • Function as point person for lead time and repair of equipment by outside vendors and contractors.
  • Knowledge of performing cumulative lead time analysis.
  • Effectively communicate the reliability perspective in cross-functional meetings.
  • Leads/Participates/Supports Maintenance Excellence programs and related Goals.
  • Monitors adherence to schedule; oversight of root cause directives to improve schedule adherence, including Equipment Downtime and Schedule Break-In metrics for maintenance team.
  • Support and drive asset management for SAP

Previous experience in maintenance planning and scheduling using CMMS and minimum 5 years experience in hands-on maintenance and reliability. Very competent computer skills (MS Office Suite), Maintenance Connection or similar CMMS experience required. Previous work experience as a scheduler using SAP is preferred.


Level I: Ability to read and analyze equipment procedures and manufacturer recommendations. Ability to present

scheduling information and respond to manufacturing questions from employees. Ability to read and interpret

documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.

Ability to write maintenance status reports and correspond with production staff as needed. Responds to all email

correspondence in Microsoft Outlook promptly.

Level II & III: Manages R&M schedule e-mail box correspondence. Direct all correspondence to the appropriate

scheduler or party. Responds to Production and EHS inquires.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and percentages


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to follow manufacturing product trees, interpret a variety of technical instructions. Ability to manage

multiple spreadsheets and programs to meet scheduling demands. Ability to define problems, collect data,

establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to adjust manufacturing plans as variables change quickly and

performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;

and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities

required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and

ability to adjust focus.

player. The employee has to be able to delegate effectively. In addition, the employee must be able to make

decisions on imperfect information, communicate and give complex oral and/or written instructions, and work
