The Quantum team's mission is to make useful quantum computing tools available to the world to enable humankind to solve problems that would otherwise be impossible. Google AI Quantum is building novel systems that can leverage quantum mechanics to outperform the world's largest computers at certain classes of problems. The Google Quantum Hardware team is building a quantum computer using superconducting integrated circuits. We are challenged with building systems that can leverage quantum mechanics to outperform the world's largest computers at certain classes of problems. Here, you have the opportunity to work hands-on with an entirely new paradigm of computing as it advances from fundamental physics to industrial applications. As a Quantum Measurement Engineer, you will own and streamline the calibration and measurement procedure for our quantum processors. You will be responsible for ensuring we have an efficient and reliable procedure for bringup, maintenance, and benchmarking of large-scale devices such as the Sycamore processor, as well as fast-turn experimental devices. As our project has a foot in both research and engineering, your role is to work with research scientists and engineers to implement prototype control and benchmarking techniques and support their development into automatable, scalable, and maintainable technologies. As quantum benchmarks and metrics are fundamental to the improvement of our processors, your position will be critical to the advent of Quantum Computing as an industrial technology. + Maintain R&D quantum processor systems and calibrations. + Analyze and improve current calibration and characterization systems to optimize for speed and robustness. + Work to efficiently characterize devices to enable short loop experimentation. + Collaborate with research scientists to benchmark and integrate new hardware and control techniques.
