We have offices in Boston, Seattle, Santa Barbara, San Francisco & Paris. However, we believe that where you work is less important than the impact you make through your work. This role can be done from anywhere in the United States or Canada. If you want an in-office experience, any of our offices are open to you but you can also work remotely from home.As a frontend engineer, you will be an integral part of a team delivering new products that bring value to Sonos Professional (aka. commercial) customers. You will build experiences that make it easier for system integrators to install Sonos and for business owners to manage their systems. You'll view shipping V1 as the start of a journey and will rapidly and continuously learn from our customers and iterate.What You'll Do:

• Bring new and existing aspects of the Sonos experience to the browser.
• Collaborate with UX designers, providing them with engineering feedback that ultimately results in the conceptualization and specification of highly usable web application experiences.
• Work with backend engineers to design and document the APIs that support the frontend capabilities you are building
• Work in middleware layers to aggregate data from backend services and ensure access to that data is safe and secure
• Ensure the features you are building are maintainable: have appropriate unit, integration, and functional tests executable via automation, support appropriate levels of logging, and report usage and performance metricsSkills You'll NeedBasic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of front end development using state of the art Javascript frameworks, HTML, CSS, and web application development tools.
  • Degree in Computer Science, related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with modern declarative JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and/or Vue.
    • Experience with strong typing via TypeScript or Flow.
    • Experience with technologies that support web applications: serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, apigateways, etc.#Remote-LIWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications. This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants. The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
