ENGIE is seeking a self-motivated individual capable of working within a fast-paced, growing organization. The candidate will support and lead a variety of activities related to wind, solar, and battery storage project development across North America. A broad set of skills is required for this position, but specialized knowledge in GIS, programming, and database management will provide a solid foundation for success.What you'll do:Programming:

  • Write code and automate redundant GIS processes to increase team efficiency
  • Create GIS software extensions, web applications, and geoprocessing tools
  • Train GIS teammates on utilizing and adapting scripts
  • Develop innovative workflows to offer spatial data-related support to colleagues within greenfielding, development, delivery, and operations teams.Web Development
    • Develop new geospatial tools and dashboards to assist with mapping, GIS analysis, and grid-scale energy project development
    • Coordinate with GIS Manager and internal user groups to identify, develop, and deploy custom widgets and applications
    • Collaborate with the GIS Administrator to appropriately dedicate resources to and fine tune performance of web servicesDatabase Management
      • Adopt and reinforce high quality metadata tracking
      • Provide recommendations for optimization of spatial database structure and management
      • Monitor and adjust SQL Server SDEs to optimize performance within desktop and web applicationsSpatial Analysis and Cartography
        • Provide mapping support for all wind, solar, and battery storage project development activities
        • Generate parcel legal descriptions and exhibits to support agreement development
        • Run buildable area models for wind, solar, and battery storage preliminary site development and to confirm compliance at later stages
        • Clearly document and communicate assumptions with both internal and external stakeholders
        • Carry out other duties as assignedWhat you bring:
          • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
          • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or equivalent required; Master's preferred
          • Proficiency and applied experience in more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, .NET, C++/C#, Python, SQL, HTML
          • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based environment
          • Superior verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
          • Ability to shift focus quickly and efficiently between varying priorities
          • Excellent map and data interpretation skills
          • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and effectively manage projects
          • Experience using Esri ArcGIS Pro software packages
          • Interest and willingness to assist with non-GIS related activities
          • Background working with ArcGIS Enterprise tools, including ArcGIS Portal as well as SDE and SQL Server databases is preferred
          • Experience with ArcGIS Web AppBuilder for Developers and ArcGIS Experience Builder a plus
          • AutoCAD experience a plus

            • Ability to sit for long periods of time; most of the work for this position will be at a desk
