It's about impact, not location.As a Senior Software Development Manager of our Bluetooth Team, you will be responsible for wireless audio and communication solutions that our customers interact with every day. You will enable your team to create experiences that allow users realize the fullest potential of the Sonos system, both in the home and away from home. Through your leadership, your team will collaborate with other teams on initiatives that span across the organization. You will support the people on your team by keeping communication lines open, foster an environment where it is safe to share ideas, curate trust relationships and connect them with work that they will love.If you love sound and music, organizing around ambitious software problems, and growing people to do the best work of their life, we'd like to talk to you!What You'll DoHire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent.Lead, inspire and advocate for a team of high performing engineers to do their best work.Manage all the stages of large engineering projects from concept to design through implementation and release. - This includes staffing allocation, project management and documentation.Partner with leaders across the organization to develop processes and strategies for producing new features and products that delight our customers.Work closely with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and product architecture across multiple disciplines of software, hardware, acoustics, networking and wireless technologies. -Focus on delivering the highest quality software through manual and automation testing, as well as using telemetry to understand real-world usage to drive product improvements.Coach team members on software development skills, leadership responsibilities and help guide their professional development to grow their careers.What You'll NeedBasic Qualifications7+ years of experience in software development with at least 3+ years of leading teams.Experience with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or other wireless technologies. -Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively. -Track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable software at scale.Working knowledge of C and C++ development, with strong problem-solving skills.Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent industry experience.Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of how to develop and maintain embedded systems.Experience leading a team through system architecture design.Experience with Linux kernel development.Familiarity with Bluetooth Compliance and/or Certification processesKnowledge of Bluetooth HCI protocols for BR/EDR and LE including link layer, GAP, L2CAP, GATT, A2DP, AVRCP, - HFP and others.Experience with radio coexistence solutions for simultaneous Bluetooth/WiFi operation.Experience working with radio chip manufacturers to resolve issues and deliver value add features.#LI-RemoteWe consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may cause compensation to vary depending on your skills, experience and qualifications. - This job is also eligible for discretionary bonuses as well as an opportunity to become a Sonos shareholder because all full time employees are eligible for stock grants. - The minimum base pay may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions.
