Job Summary:

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer will provide onsite customer service, inspect and provide technical supervision of the installation, operation, repair and maintenance of Bardex equipment worldwide, in an effort to exceed service performance and customer satisfaction levels. This position requires frequent travel worldwide with little advance notice; often to remote offshore oil and gas facilities. The ideal candidate will either have previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, or possess the ability to train and learn this role, resulting in gaining broad knowledge of Bardex equipment operation, troubleshooting and repair, while working independently and without immediate supervision in the field. Travel requirements for this role are typically 100 - 200 days annually, depending upon customers' needs. This position is a salaried position, so you will be paid all year long even if not working on a customer site.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Respond to calls from customers for service and/or preventative maintenance of Bardex equipment in the field;

Communicate with customers by phone and e-mail to schedule work, answer technical questions and provide quotes for parts and services;

Initiate own travel arrangements to customers' locations domestically and worldwide;

Supervise customers' on-site technicians in activities related to equipment installation, operation and maintenance, including start-up, commissioning, routine servicing, overhauls and major non-routine repairs;

Analyze, troubleshoot and carryout repairs on equipment and instrumentation in a timely manner;

Train customers' equipment operators in the proper operation and maintenance of Bardex equipment;

Prepare detailed written job procedures, including actions required to eliminate/reduce potential hazards;

Record activity in daily site reports; obtain appropriate site sign-off signatures; report repeat failures and trends in the field to Field Service Supervisor;

Prepare travel and expense reports and submit documentation of services and activities to the Accounting Department in a timely manner;

Work within regulatory safety guidelines at all times and ensure safety standards are met and maintained; authorized to stop unsafe work activities;

When not working in the field, provides technical support to customers and participate in testing of equipment during manufacturing and assembly;

Maintain current requisite training certifications and technical knowledge on an on-going basis;

Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes cooperatively and jointly with customers and internal support units.

Qualifications:

At least high school diploma/GED; Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred;

2-4 years' experience as a mechanic and/or instrumentation/electrical equipment technician; experience with hydraulics a plus;

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and hydraulic or electrical schematics;

Self-starter and ability to work without supervision efficiently;

Proficient exemplary oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Possess a high level of attention to detail, time management, organizational and customer service skills;

Ability to provide training to customers' onsite operators on company equipment, repairs and maintenance;

Possess basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel;

Must hold, or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport and obtain relevant vaccinations per various country requirements thereof;

Ability to travel for up to 1 month at a time, if needed;

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, medical exam and random drug/alcohol screenings, per customers' requirements;;

Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain Helicopter Underwater Egress Training, Basic Offshore Safety Training certifications;

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds in weight, climb ladders, work in small spaces both inside and outside, while wearing PPE, including hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and safety harness;

Ability to work within struct regulatory guidelines and safety initiatives.

Compensation:

$80K - $100K DOE for this full-time, exempt position;

Travel-related reimbursement for gasoline, hotels, food, plane fares.
