If you're interested, don't wait-call us today.Your responsibilities in this role- Process bi-weekly employee payroll and serve as a contact for managers and employees for electronic time card system- Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages- Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures- Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines- Manage payroll information requests and questions- Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll- Manage payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information- Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data- Manage employee deductions and other liabilities- Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records- Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities- Exercise review and verification of source documents- Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential- Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operationsJob Requirements:- Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data- Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions- Understanding of internal controls- Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills- Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen- Prior experience working with accounting software- 2+ years of payroll experience- Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements- bi-Monthly Payroll experience desiredAccountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
