Work That Matters.OverviewPosition Summary: The Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner II in the PICU is an advanced practice nurse who
provides nursing and medical services to patients, emphasizing
health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis
and management of acute and chronic diseases. Responsibilities
include ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate
diagnostic and laboratory tests; prescription of pharmacologic
agents and treatments and non-pharmacologic therapies in a cost
efficient manner. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration
with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients health
care problems. Serves as health care resource, interdisciplinary
consultant and patient advocate. Demonstrates commitment to a
patient and family focused model of care. Employee will follow
applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies,
pharmaceuticals, and equipment.The PICU is 36-bed unit across two
locations in the hospital. The PICU provides family-centered,
multidisciplinary care for critically ill patients ranging from
infancy through young adulthood. We utilize advanced therapies and
equipment to care for patients with rare diseases, post-liver and
kidney transplants, Level 1 traumas, and complex medical/surgical
cases.Qualifications: Three years acute pediatric experience as an
PNP preferred. Will accept an NP with 1-2 years of acute peds NP
experience with strong prior acute peds RN experience in the
PICU.License, Registration or Certification Required: Graduate of
an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the California
Board of Registered Nursing for hold out as a Nurse Practitioner as
defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and
Professional Code. Current California Registered Nurse License and
current certification as a Nurse Practitioner. National
certification as appropriate - preferred. Eligible for Furnishing
License - preferred.Pay Scale InformationUSD $137,072.00 - USD
$246,854.00CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to
our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate's
starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but
not limited to education and experience within the job or the
industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for
candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements
listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be
determined for those candidates that exceed these specified
