Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Assistant Director for Budget and Finance
Develops and implements administrative policies and directs daily financial aspects of Associated Students, including supervision of staff and activities of A.S. Administration Office. Responsible for A.S. financial management, including A.S. Capital Reserves of over 1.5 million dollars and oversight of a budget in excess of $12 million. Ensures compliance with federal and state requirements. Directs managers of A.S. enterprises in expected cash handling and accounting procedures, and in following University and Associated Students Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Requirements
Advanced knowledge of accounting concepts, policies and procedures including applicable Associated Students, University, State and Federal policies and external auditing requirements. Analytical skills to oversee financial data management and reporting systems. Knowledge of internal controls. Supervisory skills. Excellent communication both orally and in writing, sound judgement and decision making. Ability to present workshops on financial matters of Associated Students. Knowledge of Investments.

Desirable Requirements
Familarity with University and Associated Students policies and accounting methods. Masters degree preferred.

Fiscal Management
Serves as Chief Financial Advisor to the Executive Director. Provides oversight and recommends action on all fiscal management responsibilities of the Executive Director.
Determines long range goals for the Administration area and directs staff in the implementation of these goals. Provides analysis, long-range needs assessment, evaluation, development and research of policies and procedures. Oversees long-range planning on major projects. In the absence of the Executive Director, has signature authority along with a second manager on all requisitions.
