Engineering Manager 2 based out of Goleta, CA. As a Software
Engineering Manager 2 at Northrop Grumman you will have a
challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our
Enterprise-wide digital transformation.What You'll get to Do:This
candidate will be responsible for the functional management of
approximately 15 engineers (systems and software) and a program
assignment related to surface electronic warfare. Technical program
responsibilities will consume approximately 80% of the candidate's
time leaving the other 20% for functional homeroom tasks. The
candidate will support multiple IPTs and collaborate with other
teams across the program both locally and remote.In the functional
role, the candidate will provide their direct reports with career
development recommendations, mentoring, and technical support
including:Performance assessmentsStaffing plansDevelopment and
trainingCompensation adjustmentsOther people leadership
responsibilitiesIn the technical role, the candidate will get to
design and develop SEWIP software in support of our Navy Customer
including:Work on full life cycle software system developmentWork
in an Agile environment as part of a scrum teamContribute to peer
reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical interchange
meetingsTools Utilized include various VM/CM tools such as Rational
ClearCase, JIRA, Rhapsody/UML for design, MySql, C++, Windows, and
LINUXThe ideal candidate will provide best practices in system and
software related development to support program execution. Apart
from the challenging work this site performs on Electronic Warfare
programs, we are looking for leaders to support near term future
transitions to cutting edge methodologies, tools and architectures.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with industry experts in
Electronic Attack, on a highly collaborative engineering team.Basic
Qualifications for Software Engineering Manager 2:Bachelor's Degree
in Engineering (Computer Science/Engineering or related technical
field) plus a minimum of nine years of experience in software
development applications with lead or management experience in a
team environment; or Masters Degree in Engineering (Computer
Science/Engineering or related technical field) plus a minimum of
five years of experience in software development applications with
lead or management experience in a team environmentMust have C++
embedded software experienceKnowledge of object-oriented
developmentFamiliarity with real time embedded software system
design and developmentFamiliarity with System/Software Development
processes, tools and methodsAbility to function as a member of an
integrated teamCLEARANCE: Candidate must currently have an Interim
or Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance prior to start date.
(If Interim Secret, Candidate must be able to obtain full Secret
Clearance once started)- interim clearancePreferred Qualifications
for Software Engineering Manager 2:The candidate should have
relevant experience from the Defense/Aerospace industry and should
be familiar with all phases of the system/software development life
cycle used on a large formal DoD sponsored program.Experience
managing, leading and building teams of more than 10 peopleGood
working knowledge of RF / Radar / Electronic WarfareFamiliarity
with Digital Transformation concepts such as experience in various
Agile Methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe), and MBSE (UML, SysML),
DevSecOps, (Continuous Integration, Automated Test)Salary Range:
$147,800 USD - $221,800 USDEmployees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
