This position is located in Goleta, CA or Oxnard, CA. Responsibilities:- Develop the consolidated Deployables and Astro long-range strategic plan. Develop rationale for growth opportunities and conduct business case analysis. Support new business activities targeting change management, increasing scope and content on existing programs, and identifying new opportunities with existing customers.- Accountable for the consolidated Deployables and Astro product programmatic portion for Division Ops Reviews, delegations, and proposal reviews including cross-product proposals. Decision making authority, per delegation authority. Lead program cost control plan and improve program risk register process.- Serve as a tiered escalation level for programmatic, customer, and operational issues that aligned with the Deployables and Astro Value Stream Owner (Operations).- Provide direct leadership to assigned program managers and proactively strengthen the function through the performance management process, including: individual and group goal setting, coaching and development. Manage department priorities aligned with the strategy deployment process (SDP). Mentor talent to assume increased responsibilities. Deploy resources to meet customer demands. Establish and maintain product training requirements.- Support Product Architecture Standardization, Cost Reduction, and Vertical Integration activities.- Maintain current and actionable market-customer-pursuit intelligence that supports the assigned product and space components objectives.- Develop and implement the Deployables and Astro programs operating mode l and organizational design. Evaluate and implement program and product best practices from the legacy Deployables and Astro businesses. Implement programs daily management standards, business systems and tools, and align improvement focus with Operations team.Basic Qualifications:- B.S. in Engineering or Business required. MBA or M.S. Engineering preferred.- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Program Management. Minimum of 5 years of experience managing program manager's preferred.- Requires a proven track record of developing product strategy and developing customer relationships, pursuit capture, and shaping requirements.- Requires product-area technical experience. Requires the passion and relentless drive to achieve results, exceptional leadership skills, effective and timely decision making, negotiation skills, and problem solving skills.- Requires knowledge and experience with implementation and execution of process standards focused on programs, business development, and risk management identification and mitigation.- Excellent communication skills - written, oral, listening.- US Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications:- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance- Experience with development an d implementation of a programs operating model and organizational design and evaluation and implementation of best practices.Additional Requirements:- ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.Northrop Grumman is applying entrepreneurial thinking and commercial practices to deliver reliable, innovative and affordable products and services to our customers and grow our core areas while harnessing new technologies that will take our products and your ideas into the future.
