DESCRIPTION

The Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for temporary research positions in the Project Scientist titles (in the assistant, associate and full ranks). The title in this series are given only to those who make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project. Appointees may be ongoing members of a research team, or may contribute high-level
skills to a specific project for a limited time.

This is a pooled recruitment, and appointments are subject to availability of funding and departmental needs. Temporary research positions may vary from part-time to full-time and may range from short term to long term. Screening of applicants will occur as needed, for full consideration apply by 01/31/2019. The posting will remain open until October 31, 2019 to accommodate department needs.

Qualified applicants must hold a doctorate degree (or equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field at the time of application. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications.
An outstanding research record or demonstrate potential in the areas of: Bioengineering and Systems Biology; Computational Science and Engineering; Dynamic Systems, Control and Robotics; Micro and Nanoscale Engineering; Solid Mechanics, Materials and Structures; and Thermalfluid Sciences and Fluid Mechanics, is preferred.
The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research and service.
