Our ideal candidate will have between one and three years of experience working on environmental site assessment and remediation projects, including experience with radionuclides and metals.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals as you move to the next stage of your career? Some of the key responsibilities for this environmental remediation scientist or engineer position may include:

* Radiological and chemical data analysis and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;

* Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and

* Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

* Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, CPR training, and medical monitoring, all paid for by Geosyntec. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.

* Some overnight travel will be necessary.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's degree in science (e.g., geology, geochemistry, or environmental chemistry) or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. [required]

* Advanced degree in science (e.g., geology, geochemistry, or environmental chemistry) or environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. [preferred]

* Approximately 1 to 3 years of relevant environmental project experience involving radiological and chemical contamination. [strongly preferred]

* Prior experience in an environmental consulting environment. [preferred]

* Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidance related to environmental site assessment and remediation, especially pertaining to radiological contaminants (e.g., MARSSIM and other DOE, NRC, and USEPA documents). [strongly preferred]

* Excellent written and oral communication skills. [required]

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Sample Plan (VSP), and R software. [preferred]

* Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hr refreshers. [preferred]

* Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. [required]
