Job Description:

The Automation and Control Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and assembly of automation equipment for our high-volume contactor production lines. This position works closely with design engineers, equipment vendors, program managers, marketing, and quality engineers to support the development of new electromechanical products. Responsibilities will include design reviews, documentation packages and validation reports. This role works closely with mechanical engineers for the development of the electro-mechanical systems.




  • General Responsibilities


    • Leads the design, develoment, and implementation of cost-effective methods through testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing


    • Leads the testing of diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products


    • Coordinates the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices


    • Ensure that programs are in compliance with standards for good laboratory practices good manufacturing practices and/or good clinical practices


    • Responsible for setting the parameters and testing customer samples


      Experience / Qualifications


      • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.


      • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands


      • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation


      • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results


      • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity


      • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards


      • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)


      • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers







          • Experience in Electrical Engineering or equivalent


          • 2-3 years of experience developing in Labview.


          • Interpret schematics and PCB layout drawings to debug analog (control and sensing), Digital, prototype, and production circuits and test fixtures.


          • Proficiency with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, power supplies, hi-pot tester, micro controllers, etc.


          • Preferred Experience in: Automation development, electro-mechanical systems, vacuum systems


          • SQL experience preferred.


          • Proficiency in circuit design a plus.


          • Handles the development of end-user tools for data analysis, reporting and work flow processes with database communication


          • Analyzes the existing software and improving the processes


          • Key contact for the Design and Test Lab departments, and handles requirements of new functionality


          • Handles the integration of in-house software for our test equipment


          • Taking part in on-site software debugging, machines further adaptation and optimization





            • Base Salary Range:
              $95,100.00 - $130,680.00
