Job SummaryAvantor is looking for a dedicated Reliability & Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor to oversee our NuSil team, delivering results against some of the most complex business and technology initiatives.This role will be a full-time position for 2nd shift from Monday - Friday and is based out of our Carpinteria, California facility. You will have the opportunity to coordinate schedules and workflow for the team who repairs and conducts preventative maintenance activities throughout the facility. You will also supervise day-to-day work of maintenance employees and can manage vendor relationships. This role also ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and provides oversight to lower-level supervisor(s). This team supports the maintenance and reliability department by helping with the maintenance and workflow of the facility.What we're looking for

• Education: High school diploma required
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in maintenance of a production / distribution / manufacturing environment requiredPreferred Qualifications:
  • 4 year technical degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with cGMP and associated validation efforts preferred

    • Leads Maintenance team through use of engineering principles
    • Directs spending and meets budgetary requirements are required
    • Establishes safe methods for maintenance work and trains Mechanics on a regular basis
    • Reviews line drawings and P&IDs to ensure compliance to standards and need
    • Oversees the maintenance tracking system and ensures that preventive maintenance procedures are effective
    • Ensures maintenance and project activities are compliant with all regulatory and corporate requirements (cGMP's, ISO, ANSI, UL, NEC, NFPA, PSM, etc.)
    • Supports operational excellence activities to support improvements in safety, cost, capacity and throughputs; actively supports 5S efforts for site
    • Interfaces with Engineers to manage large capital projects
    • Develops direct reports to support corporate directives toward establishing high potential bench
    • Utilizes knowledge/experience in electrical, HVAC, boilers, PLC's, engineering drawings, machine shop equipment and fabrication on a regular basis
    • Maintains plant utility systems and ensures efficiency of use
    • Manages hazardous and universal waste according to local, state and federal regulations
