Responsibilities









This is a leadership role within the Applications Development group in the nanoscale IR spectroscopy business unit of Bruker's Nano Surfaces Division, creator and manufacturer of the world's leading nanoIR characterization instruments. This individual will be well-known and respected in the nanoscale IR spectroscopy community for their expertise in nanoscale IR applications, and will serve as the final authority in these areas to ensure development of market winning products and for any escalated situation, sales or scientific. This position has 5 primary responsibilities: 1) Provide scientific application and technical expertise in the definition, validation, and release of winning products and new growth market adoption in nanoscale IR research and industrial applications.2) Engage in collaborations that align and enable our market, product, and technology roadmaps, and enhance our position as leader - specifically in areas such as the development of nanoIR polymers, life science and 2D materials characterization, including semiconductors, and new vertical industrial markets.3) Be an active participant and evangelist in the scientific nanoIR community by carrying out cutting edge research and development, being respected in the nanoIR community, and communicating your work and our enabling technologies in scientific conferences, presentations, papers, application notes, and Bruker activities.4) Expand our technology's reach into new research and vertical industrial markets and enable our customer's productivity, by creating and leading highly interactive customer trainings through webinars, on-site courses, knowledge bases, and social media content.5) Dynamically apply our world-class expertise to the nanoIR' groups global, tactical and strategic priorities (from Demos, to voice of the customer), and through our actions and spirit, advance our position as the unrivaled market leader in academic and industrial segments. It is required that all information garnered through these efforts be fully distributed to all relevant personnel, and to this end, the position will use Marcom, Product Management, and the Bruker Channel to deliver technical content, and to deploy knowledge. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Visit customers to disseminate research, developments, and application results, identify new opportunities for research and vertical industrial applications, enhance Bruker's reputation, and gain first hand competitive and market information.

  • Design and implement a strategic portfolio of relationships within University, Government and Industrial electrical characterization leaders to advance Bruker's strategic developments and market position.
  • Engage the research community to keep our online centers vibrant (webinars, social media, etc.)
  • Quarterly review and presentation of collaborative and competitive results.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Expert knowledge of nanoscale spectroscopy applicationsBroad based proficiency in scienceExcellent written and verbal skillsAbility to organize, participate in, and influence collaborative groupsPresentation skills EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
PHD degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering or equivalent3 to 5 years of nanoscale spectroscopy experienceTrack record of peer reviewed publicationsDeep & hands-on knowledge of IR characterization for academic and industrial applications PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
25-35% travel required.Ability to lift, move, wire, reconfigure, and find customer solutions with ease.
