The Office of Summer Sessions is an administrative unit that offers over 650 courses across all academic disciplines, serving 9,500 students during the summer months. Our student population varies greatly, with students leveraging summer in a number of ways to make successful progress toward their degree plans, or enrich their academic experience at UC Santa Barbara. We also offer courses and programming to non-UCSB students, including robust pre-collegiate programming. Our office collaborates closely with the entire campus, working together to reach our campus goals. We are an office that specializes in enrollment planning and management, innovative academic experiences, and building community during the summer months at UC Santa Barbara. Most importantly, we are a group that enjoys the work that we do and we take pride in the role that we play on campus.

Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Summer Sessions, serves as the departmental expert in the areas of marketing, communications, outreach, and graphic design. Develops and implements yearly marketing and design plans; collaborates on these efforts with the entire department. Develops and implements marketing materials (both print and digital, and graphic and textual) while adhering to a yearly budget.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/ or equivalent combination of experience / training. Marketing and outreach experience. A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in marketing and/or outreach. Excellent written communication skills including demonstrated experience creating written materials for marketing or outreach purposes. Strong graphic design skills. Experience creating or overseeing the creation of graphic design projects in Adobe Creative Suite or similar software. Solid organizational skills and detail orientation. Ability to create, coordinate, and execute marketing campaigns and strategies, while adhering to strict budgets and deadlines. Understanding of diverse media; Ability to effectively coordinate marketing efforts across multiple media, including print, digital, and social media. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with a diverse range of constituents. Assessment and/or market research experience. Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data, assess marketing needs and the effectiveness of marketing efforts, and develop creative solutions and strategies.

Desirable Requirements
Higher education marketing experience; Particularly within an office of Summer Sessions, Extension, Continuing Education, or office with niche and diverse programming and multiple target markets. Software knowledge and experience: Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Content Management (CMS) software, particularly Salesforce and Drupal.
