Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Under the general direction of the Lead PASC Chair within the Phelps Administrative Support Center, is responsible for full range of management functions of the separate departments (Comparative Literature, French & Italian, Germanic & Slavic Studies, Latin American & Iberian Studies, Spanish & Portuguese). Management responsibilities encompass academic administration, academic support services, departmental computer technical support services, contract, grant, and gift/donation administration, purchasing and financial management, payroll, staff and academic personnel, space management, and safety programs. Develops and implements operating policies and procedures as they relate to overall departmental goals and objectives, interprets policy for department chairs/directors and departmental committee members, serves as liaison to other campus academic and administrative units. Requires considerable initiative, independence, judgment, and problem solving abilities as well as effective management and supervisory experience, and must possess a strong knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
-Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training
- Broad knowledge and experience of financial accounting, analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management, supervision, and payroll
- Ability to assess and adjust priorities adeptly, while balancing a high volume workload
- Ability to interface professionally with a broad range of staff, faculty, students, and others on behalf of the departments
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations and priorities
- Solid judgment and decision-making ability
- Strong consensus-building, facilitator, and consulting skills
- Ability to take leadership of projects and move them forward in the absence of specific direction from others
- Ability to think analytically
- Ability to be both strategic and hands-on when necessary

Desirable Requirements
Extensive accounting and financial management experience. UCPath, Kronos, UC Recruit, AP Folio, Data Warehouse experience.
